Baby steps in VR surgery , a Beginner's guide
Performing your first independent VR surgery, by a young retina surgeon is often accompanied by a sense of apprehension and fear due to lack of previous experience. A thorough background theoretical knowledge may not always be accompanied by an adequate and comparable surgical expertise especially in an independent VR practice where the surgeon may not have a mentor. Small mistakes in the early steps of retina surgery not only makes the later steps more challenging but also may compromise the end result. Our IC deals with this situation and our young and dynamic speakers share various nuances and tips for making the right decision and performing a flawless surgery which not only ensures a good surgical outcome but also ensures a happy and satisfied patient.
