“What could I have done differently”- Learning from own’s mistakes in Strabismus surgery
Every strabismus surgery poses unique challenges. Even after careful evaluation and planning in the most experienced hands, the alignment outcome after surgery can be suboptimal. A novel way to learn is from such cases of unexpected results of one’s own and colleagues. The present instruction course shall highlight interesting cases of varied strabismus entities in which the surgeon could not achieve expected outcomes. It will be an analysis of each step from evaluation to surgical planning and surgical steps which might contribute to such results. Through case presentations, photos and videos, the experienced faculty shall explain what could have been done differently to improve the alignment. The course shall be a great learning experience for the audience to plan and finetune results in complex strabismus cases.
